Meeting with Office of Healthcare Ombudsman
DC Family Support Council heard the concerns from DC residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families about their health insurance denials and complaints.  The Office of the Healthcare Ombudsman of the Department of Healthcare Finance shared information about their program and how they can assist DC families with health insurance needs.  The presentation will provide to DC families and understanding of their rights when they get a denial from their health insurance, the process for appealing denials, and what supports are available to families to help with this process.
