The federal government provides incentives to employers which hire qualified job seekers with disabilities to reduce the employer’s income liability and to put job seekers to work.
The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) provides tax incentives, depending on the category, of up to $9,600 in credit when they hire job seekers who:
- Have disabilities;
- Are Veterans; or
- Have past criminal records (Returning Citizens)
As a Vocational Rehabilitation Agency, RSA can provide the necessary verification to support employers with completing the federal forms and link them to the appropriate District of Columbia WOTC Program Coordinator at the DC Department of Employment Services.
Employers must submit required documentation within thirty (30) days of hiring a job seeker who meets the criteria.
