RSA provides employers with supports to educate them about disabilities and how job seekers with disabilities can perform many jobs.
RSA job seekers have advanced degrees, college degrees, certificates, high school diplomas and no high school diplomas. Job seekers with disabilities have a larger percentage of unemployment, due to stereotypes and attitudinal barriers.
Disability awareness also includes educating employers about the various types of disabilities. Contrary to popular belief, all disabilities are not visible. Disabilities fall in to categories of tied to mobility, vision, hearing, mental and cognitive.
RSA can visit the employer worksite to present disability awareness workshops to educate staff or invite employers to attend RSA’s in-house disability awareness sessions.
