Step 8: Move-in

Congratulations on making it this far in the process. You have gained a lot of information and resources to help you achieve your goal of independent living.  Up to now, The Guide has concentrated on getting you ready, willing, and able for housing opportunities, which is called pre-tenancy and pre-purchase education.  This Step and the remaining Steps focus on resources that can assist you with maintaining and keeping your home, which is called post-tenancy and post-purchase.  When the time comes, and you have signed a lease or loan documents at settlement and received keys to your home, you can reference the last Steps, 8 through 10, for information on the following:

- Resources and services you may need when planning your move
- Community resources for home repairs and reasonable modifications
- Eviction or foreclosure prevention programs
