DDS Decision Making Rights | Substitute Decision Maker's Report

At least 30 days before the annual review hearing, the substitute decision-maker with the highest level of priority is required to file a report indicating if the person consents to or refuses continued commitment. Person-Centered Thinking

Person-centered thinking is a philosophy behind service provision that supports positive control and self-direction of people’s own lives. DDS is working to implement this through training sessions and other agency wide initiatives.
