This purpose of the Individual Support Plans Policy is to delineate DDS and provider responsibilities and establish guidelines, protocols, and procedures for the development of Individual Support Plans for persons who receive services funded or arranged by the District of Columbia Department on Disability Services.

Person-Centered Thinking

Person-centered thinking is a philosophy behind service provision that supports positive control and self-direction of people’s own lives. DDS is working to implement this through training sessions and other agency wide initiatives.

Employment First Initiative
