Notice of Public Hearing: Proposed Policies
Pursuant to the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, and its implementing federal regulations, the DC Department on Disability Services (DDS), Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA), will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, to obtain input on the following proposed RSA policies:
International Day of Persons with Disabilities
Sunday, December 3 is International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The annual observance was proclaimed in 1992 by the United Nations General Assembly. It aims to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and development, and to increase awareness of the situation of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life. The AAPD Leadership Awards Gala provides a unique opportunity for AAPD’s partners, supporters, and colleagues to show their support of Americans with all types of disabilities; while bringing together the national cross-disability community with business and government leadership for one night each year.
The 2014 Gala will take place on Tuesday, March 18th from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC.
