Starbucks, along with an host of employers, is this national rolling event is to engage at 1 million youth between 16-24 years old who face systemic barriers to jobs and educations, by 2021, through apprenticeships, internships, and part-time and full-time jobs. The initiative plans to achieve this through direct hiring events, employer-led communities of practice, communication & advocacy and strategic investments across the nation. - seeks to end all new civil commitment for people with intellectual disabilities;
- provides an opportunity for people currently committed to end court oversight;
- recognizes supported decision-making as a less restrictive alternative to guardianship; and
- enables people with disabilities to make as many choices as they can about their own lives.
