Meeting with Department on Disability Services
DC Department on Disability Services (DDS) and the presenters addressed the following questions: What are the DDS services and supports provided to DC residents with IDD and their families? What are the “new” eligibility requirements to apply for DDS services and programs? How do DC residents and their families access DDS services and programs? What is the process to address challenges with DDS services and supports?

Person-Centered Thinking

Person-centered thinking is a philosophy behind service provision that supports positive control and self-direction of people’s own lives. DDS is working to implement this through training sessions and other agency wide initiatives.

Employment First Initiative
