Ivymount will host a special screening on Wednesday, February 12 at 6:30pm for the ReelAbilities-Disabilities Film Festival.  ReelAbilities is the largest festival in the country dedicated to promoting awareness and appreciation of the lives, stories and artistic expressions of people with different disabilities.

 Feature film: Ocean Heaven

Jet Li, in his first dramatic role, stars in this moving story of a father's tireless love for his autistic son and his attempt to teach his son the life skills necessary to survive on his own.

Preview short: Autism in Love

RV Kuser is a clever and dapper man of 50 with Autism. He has learned to suppress certain behaviors so he can fully embrace life. He and his wife, Marlene, share secrets about their bond and RV reveals the true meaning of unconditional love.

Following the films, we will host a engaging panel discussion focused on transition services, support and employment of young adults with disabilities, and the challenges our families face in transition.
