The Family Support Council (FSC) was established in July 2015 to assist, advise and provide recommendations to the Department on Disability Services (DDS) and sister agencies on developing person and family-centered systems of support throughout the lifespan of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The FSC is made up of 11 voting members who were appointed by the Department on Disability Services (DDS) Director and all meetings are open to the public.
Meetings typically occur the fourth Thursday of every other month from 12:30-2:30pm at the Department on Disability Services, at 250 E Street, SW Washington DC 20024 unless otherwise announced.
In addition to DDS, the following government agencies participate in the FSC:
Child and Family Services Agency
District of Columbia Office on Aging, Aging and Disability Resource Center
District of Columbia Public Schools
Department of Behavioral Health
Office of Disability Rights
DDS will provide accommodations needed for meaningful participation. Questions? Contact Emily Price at [email protected] or 202-262-2174.
