Washington, DC—The D.C. Department on Disability Services and the Department of Employment Services will host a Youth Workforce Development Fair on Monday, December 5, 10 am – 1 pm, at the Department on Disability Services, 250 E Street, SW. The fair is open to high school seniors and out of school youth with disabilities up to age 24 who are current clients of the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA).
Fair attendees will have an opportunity to explore career options and job training programs available in the fields of hospitality, construction, customer service, IT help desk, security, and commercial driving. Youth who sign up for a job training program have the potential to earn $8.25 per hour. To apply for job training programs, attendees must bring: photo id; copy of birth certificate; social security card; copy of diploma, if available; proof of residency; and a letter from RSA confirming disability status.
