Fetus Sodimu: There’s Always an Ability in Disability
With considerable experience in banking, sales, and telecommunications, Festus Sodimu has always been a diligent worker. However, his transition to employment in the U.S. following his move from Nigeria in 2018 was not without its unique challenges. Acting on the advice of a physical therapist at MedStar, he sought employment support from the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA). Joshua Dyson: Use Life’s Experiences to Help Others
The "tough love" Joshua Dyson received from his peers while growing up in DC served as a catalyst that continues to fuel his desire to help youth and improve his community. He remembers the teasing and taunts he heard as a 10-year-old who took a bus to attend a 'special' school rather than walking to school with the neighborhood kids. "I didn't want people to know I attended a special ED school. I didn't like being in what other kids called the 'slow class.' See more . . . 

Tamika Smith: There is no limit to life. You only have one life. Live it!
always wanted to work for a government agency but needed help to achieve that goal. Once connected with RSA, she was selected for the Aspiring Professionals Program, a six-month paid internship that gives people with disabilities a chance to work within District Government agencies. Ms. Smith interned with the Office of the State Superintendent for Education (OSSE); her work ethic and collaborative spirit turned that opportunity into a permanent full-time position. Alec Sherman: Be Consistent in Pursuing the Life You Want
Alec Sherman came to the Rehabilitation Services Administration of DDS during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic to get help navigating the job market. While he had been applying for jobs, the extra assistance he got from his vocational rehabilitation specialist made the employment search less daunting. See More...
