A public hearing on the 2017 – 2019 State Plan for Independent Living (SPIL) will be held on Monday, June 27, 2016 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Department on Disability Services (DDS) at 250 E Street SW, to solicit additional input from the public.  Recommendations are solicited from consumers, service providers, advocacy organizations and other interested individuals on how DDS the Designated State Entity (DSE); the Statewide Independent Living Council (SILC); and the District of Columbia Center for Independent Living (DCCIL) should expand and improve its provision of services with utilized funding to consumers with significant disabilities.

Individuals who wish to present recommendations are limited to ten (5) minutes at the public meeting and are asked to contact the Rehabilitation Services Administration, Ms. Darnise Henry Bush (202) 442-8432 or [email protected] or Ms. Dahlia Johnson (202) 442-8748 or [email protected] before 4:45 p.m. on June 24, 2016.
