DDS Presents Findings of the Statewide Needs Assessment

Friday, November 3, 2017

The Department on Disability Services, Rehabilitation Services Administration (DCRSA) and the State Rehabilitation Council will present findings of the 2017 Comprehensive Statewide Needs Assessment on Monday, November 6, 10 am, at 250 E Street, SW. Dr. Chaz
Compton of the Interwork Institute at San Diego State University and representatives from the Arc of DC will lead the discussion.

The District of Columbia conducts a comprehensive needs assessment of disability services every three years as required by the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014. More than 400 people participated in the 2017 assessment through interviews, focus groups, and electronic surveys. Data collected examined the overall performance of DCRSA; the needs of individuals with the most significant disabilities; the needs of youth and students with disabilities; and the needs of business. Results of the assessment will assist the Department on Disability Services with program development, outreach, and allocation of resources to address the needs of people with disabilities.
