Respite Care Services

Description

Respite care services shall be provided to participants unable to care for themselves; furnished on a short-term basis because of the absence or need for relief of those persons normally providing the care. Respite care will ensure that participants have access to community activities as delineated in the participant’s Plan of Care including transportation to and from the activities the person would receive if they were not in respite.

Limits and Requirements

Hourly Respite is limited to 720 hours per year. Respite is not available to participants receiving Supported Living, Host Home, Live-in Caregiver, or Residential Habilitation services. Daily Respite is limited to 30 days per year. Due to the room and board costs Daily Respite requires a Service Authorization prior to placement.
