Personal Care Services
Description
Personal Care Services shall consist of hands-on care, of both a supportive and health-related nature, specific to the needs of a developmentally disabled individual. Personal Care Supportive Services are those services, which substitute for the absence, loss, diminution, or impairment of physical or cognitive function.
Limits and Requirements
State Plan Personal Care services are arranged through a Medicare Home Health Agency must be exhausted (1040 hours) before Waiver Personal Care can be used. Waiver Personal Care is limited to eight hours per day up to 1040 hours per year. Most Home Health Agencies providing Waiver also provide State Plan services and can assist with tracking the use of State Plan and Waiver Services.
