The Office of Quality Assurance and Federal Compliance provides requisite administrative support services through preparation of state plans, program guidelines and instructions, monitors compliance with Federal and District laws and regulations, conducts quality assurance/assessments of programs and services and coordinates Independent Living Services to older blind individuals and Independent Living Vocational Rehabilitation Services under Chapter VII of the Rehabilitation Act.

This office is also responsible for the Program on Work Employment and Responsibilities (POWER) which serves recipients of Temporary Assistance For Needy Families who have a physical and/or mental disability and require vocational rehabilitation (VR) services to achieve employment.

Independent living services for Older Individuals Who Are Blind Program serves clients who are legally blind and over the age 55 with the following services: peer support, orientation and mobility, advocacy and referral information. 

The Independent Living Rehabilitation Services Program serves individuals with significant disabilities. Services assisted these individual to become self-sufficient, remain in their home and become active in the community.
 
Additionally, outreach activities for the Latino community is conducted for special populations by the Latino Coordinator through orientation classes.
 
Other activities of this office includes the development and revision of program instructions, state plan preparation, monitoring of contracts and service providers, completion of a customer satisfaction survey and an assessments of individuals with significant disabilities and ongoing quality assurance/evaluation of the maintenance payroll and procurement vouchers.
