The Disability Determination Division (DDD) of RSA makes disability decisions for Social Security according to federal guidelines.
For the SSI program, DDD will review medical information received from clients as well as other sources to make an eligibility decision.
The SSI program will pay disability benefits to you based on a financial need. The program is designed to provide cash to meet basic needs such as food, clothing, and shelter.
DDD is responsible solely for determining medical eligibility. Social Security will assume responsibility for eligible clients for the application process, additional eligibility criteria, and the calculation of benefits.
Goals
To determine if an individual meets the Social Security Disability criteria.
