The Disability Determination Division (DDD) of RSA makes disability decisions for Social Security according to federal guidelines.
For the SSDI program, DDD will review medical information received from clients as well as other sources to make an eligibility decision.
The SSDI program will pay disability benefits to you and certain members of your family if you are “insured”. For SSDI, you are considered “insured” if you have worked long enough and paid Social Security taxes.
DDD is responsible solely for determining medical eligibility. Social Security will assume responsibility for eligible clients for the application process, additional eligibility criteria, and the calculation of benefits.
Goals
To determine if an individual meets the Social Security Disability criteria.
